Objective of Student Blogs: Students will record daily in two posting categories: Daily Log and Daily Reflection. The log will record how the student has spent his or her time each day. The reflection will journal the experience as well as incorporate a writing and online networking element to the project. As students reflect they are encouraged to link to relevant sites on the web (hyperlinking for connective reading and writing) as well as incorporate photos and video as appropriate.
Access: Each student has his/her own blog. It can be accessed by clicking on the Senior Project blog and clicking on the student name in the left hand navigation bar. (Note to students: if you want to bookmark your own blog, click on that link and then bookmark the blog page.) You can login to write your blog posts from the META section of your blog. However, to view and post comments to yours or anyone else's blogs, you do not need to login. These blogs are public and are viewable by anyone, anywhere, anytime.
Logging In and Changing Settings: Students will want to follow the general setup instructions for the Lovett Word Press blogs found here.
The WSYWIG Editor: Explore how the editing took works as well as the means of tagging and categorizing your posts. This screencast shows you how.
Adding Images and Video: Photographs and video will add interest to your blog writing. Please be mindful of copyright and fairuse, and in the case of photographs or video you've taken, be sure you have the permission of those involved before posting. This screencast will show you how to add video and images.
